About the Ringneck Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)
The Ringneck Pheasant (or Common Pheasant) is identified partly by (and named after) the unique white ring around its neck. They can grow to a weight of nearly 6 lbs with an overall length of 30 inches or more. Males often display bright colors to attract their mates, while the females most often exhibit muted and camouflaged colors to help hide the from predators and better product their young. Pheasant have the ability to fly over 50 miles and hour when fleeing from other Birds of Prey.
