Statement

What constitutes an image? To explore that question, I examine video images as well as projected photographs, including those contained within the image itself, such as in a mirror image or transparency. My fascination with finding the physical limits of a projected image have led me to reflect on the instability and expansive quality of light and its innate substance: coloured waves that travel and transform what we see depending on the media. Indeed, it comes to mind that sound also travels by waves, albeit invisible ones. I therefore propose that the viewer experience my artwork through the synergy of audio and the images emanating from light, and fleeting mental images, that emerge from his or her own memory bank.
