DAGUY Original Street Drawings on Found Newspaper, 2010

While operating la Petite Mort Gallery from 2005 – 2015, many artists and those wishing to be, came by the gallery to show me their artwork. Normally, your typical gallery would insist on appointments made by telephone, after having previewed the work online, but it was never the case at my ‘fine establishment of no rules’…

In this case, some cool cat street guy came in and gifted me an ink drawing on old newspaper. Normally, gifts would be the ‘undiscussed bribe’ to have your work represented, but this guy was being genuine. I normally would never accept gifts that way, but in this case, I truly felt this guy’s work was quite beautiful, and my turning it down would probably insult him.

Unfortunely, I cannot recall his name, but I do recall insisting he sign his work, which he did so under the heading ‘DAGUY’, which makes me realize his name was quite possibly Guy, like myself.

Then one day, he disappeared.

Measures 23 x 23 inches . Newspaper is dated June 10, 2010. Item is currently stored folded, like a newspaper. Would look killer framed.

Asking $150.
