Rare, Unique Jean Cocteau Paper Cut Out Artwork of Double Male Nude.
Jean Cocteau (5 July 1889 – 11 October 1963) was a French writer, designer, playwright, artist and filmmaker.
Original Paper Cut Out, found with 1923 Limited Edition Publication Entitled ‘Jean Cocteau: Dessins’ (Librairie Stock, Delamain, Boutelleau et Cie, Paris).
From Book Originally Hand Signed By Cocteau to Georges Prade, 1923.
Acquired in New York City from Private Collection. This artwork was a gift included in the publication, possibly to George Prade / see inscription:
“A George Prade, ce souvenir amical d’un age ou il y avait des vacances et des miracles. Jean Cocteau * ”
Artwork is white paper on the verso, and deep purple on the front.
Measures: 8.25″ width x 4″ height
Artwork is unsigned, undated. It is unmounted, with very slight tape residue on verso. Stored in it’s original thick stock folded card stock folded enveloppe.
