As an incentive for the upcoming holiday season, The Vallarta Food Bank has extended its generosity & goodwill in offering ‘dispensas’ (food bags) to the residents in need, in the beautiful town of Boca de Tomatlan, along with a local team of volunteers.

OUR OBJECTIVE: Feed 100 People for One Month, which is currently a success.

The experience of volunteering continues to be an extremely enriching opportunity for all of us.

About Us

Our beloved Vallarta is facing a crisis with many people out of work due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To help our community, we have set up a food bank for the families in Puerto Vallarta and its surrounding areas. Without your support, feeding those in need becomes an even more challenging task. You are crucial to Vallarta Food Bank’s mission: no one goes hungry.

Our board of directors include Francie, Francie Victoria and Jimmy. We’re small business owners and residents in Puerto Vallarta who want to give a helping hand to our community. Each of us has experience with volunteer efforts: from delivering food and supplies after hurricanes, searching for missing children, working in soup kitchens, to building schools in small villages in Vietnam.

Currently, our organization serves hot meals 5 days a week from our soup kitchen while continuing to provide despensas (food bags) to the families in need. In addition, we support the families from Pasitos de Luz, Foundation Down A.C., and Red de Asociaciones Altruistas. We also make bi-weekly deliveries to more than 30 families who are physically unable to leave their homes.

During the last raining season we were able to provide food, cleaning supplies and basic clothing to the people who were affected by the storm and flooding. We are committed to continue the disaster relief effort as needed.

Our future plan also includes educational and trade courses to provide better job opportunities for the local community. We are super excited to start our first English class by the end of October.

Since we started our mission, we’ve been asked the same question, “how can I help?” If you’re able, we’d love it if you could make a donation. The direct impact of your contributions is simple; the more funds we receive, the more despensas we can pack and distribute.

Be assured that 100% of your donation will go toward food and basic necessities for families in need. Together we will help the beautiful people of Vallarta feed their families.
