March 2006
La Petite Mort Gallery and Guy Berube invite you to a vernissage of Joyce Westrop’s new body of work, entitled ‘FLIGHT’.
Join us Friday evening, March 3rd, 2006, from 7-10pm at 306 Cumberland, corner of Murray. Tunes by CAPPO.
“Tumbling wings from Icarus’ doomed flight and crumpled bi-planes of the Wright brothers are some of the motifs Joyce Westrop uses in her new series of drawings. Westrop’s work has focused on the compulsion Western man feels towards Space and what that means for Earth. Flight links the earth to the universe creating a metaphor for our unfulfilled desire to escape.”
Thank you,
Guy Berube, Director
