Beautiful Set of 5 Woodcut Mid Century American Prints 1932
Set of 5 separate identical woodcut prints depicting a wooded area with lake. Prints are hand pressed so slight variation in imagery & size of paper. All have similar signs of aging around the edges, but once framed, each one holds its aesthetic; flaws will no longer be visible. Unknown artist, unsigned or dated but all were contained in an envelope with the following written in it: ‘M.C. 1932. Los Angeles’. All prints measure approx. 12 x 8 inches (4 of them) & one measures 8 x 5.25 inches. Slight ‘attic’ smell, sorta lie grandpa, but we love him anyways.Prints can be sold separately. $55 each.
Recent Acquisition from the Private Art Collection of a Los Angeles Collector of Mid Century Art, who passed away in 1999. Acquired via his son in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
