I write with some unfortunate news the producers shared with me, and I felt it important to reach out to you directly.
As I mentioned early on, although the film is a comedy our primary goal with this particular scene was to honor those who have died of AIDS-related illness. Ultimately, they could not find a place in the film that gave the moment the respect it deserved and decided it would be best to not include. I am very disappointed, but also relieved they understood the importance and did not want to make light of what we created.
Thank you so much for your willingness to share Jaime’s memory and image with us. And I know the paperwork was a terrible hassle. Although it will not be seen in the film, I am personally thankful to have connected and to know his story and his name.

Thank you so much – we are so happy to be including this image. I believe Stuart has told you a bit about the film, but I’ll give a bit more detail!
The film is set to be the first major studio released gay rom written by and starring Billy Eichner called BROS. In our film, Billy’s character is helping create the first National LGBTQ+ Museum. We have a scene in the film where Billy shows his love interest some exhibits in the museum – including an AIDS Memorial. Although our film is a comedy, this scene is serious. We wanted to take a moment to honour those who have died of AIDS-related illness and memorialize them in our film. It’s also important to us that some of these images show these people beautiful, happy and vibrant – as they were in life. I think your lovely image of Jaime does exactly that.

Billy Eichner Universal Romantic Comedy ‘Bros’ Sets Late Summer 2022 Release
Universal bills Bros as “the first romantic comedy from a major studio about two gay men maybe, possibly, probably stumbling towards love. Maybe. They’re both very busy.”
Neighbors franchise filmmaker Nicholas Stoller directs. Pic is produced by Judd Apatow, Stoller and Joshua Church. This is the second movie after Minions: The Rise of Gru that Universal has kept for 2022. Yesterday, the studio announced they were moving their global tentpole F9 from Memorial Day weekend to June 25. Paramount seized the opportunity of that vacancy and moved the long-awaited A Quiet Place Part II from Sept. 17 to May 28.
