History: This work was painted by the collector’s Great Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth George, while she was a student at the Ladies College at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. The collector’s parents referred to the subject as “Little Onion Eyes,” for a reason that eludes the Collector.

”I don’t remember why my parents called the little girl “Little Onion Eyes,” although her eyes do look a little like boiled onions, which were popular years ago!”
