Original Vintage Outstanding Photo Award Montage 1961.
Mid Century, Unique, Authentic & One-of-a-kind Photo Montage which depicts photographer Salvador J. Felix having received The Copley Press Inc. / Glendale New Press Outstanding New Photograph / Journalism Award in 1960. Included in the montage is the photographer himself holding the award & prize money, a copy of the $100 award cheque, dated February 24, 1962, in La Jolla, California. Includes authentic vintage photograph which is darkroom printed, silver gelatin authentic print / 8×10 inches, of a rather spectacular car crash, with fire fighters, policemen & bystanders on overpass. Notice victim being carried up the ladder in stretcher thingy.Verso of print had darkroom notes. The whole montage mounted on faded & very brittle peach coloured thick stock paper. The whole measuring 19 x 10.25 inches.
Recent Acquisition from the Private Art Collection of a Los Angeles Collector of Mid Century Art, who passed away in 1999. Acquired via his son in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico..
