SOLD. Pre Columbian Terra Cotta Rooster Sculpture

Pre Columbian Terra Cotta. Fragment of an original ancient artifact, a depiction of a rooster, possibly from a vessel or other decorative item. Approx. 1000AD – 1500 AD. Made a brownish terra cotta pottery clay. Thick & solid. Measures 3.5 width x 3 height (inches). Looks as though it was initially on a base; very mild glue markings visible on bottom. Can be removed if wanted. Acquired via a private sale in New York in the mid 1990’s.

Verbally appraised at $325.
