SOLD. Collection Miniature 1950’s American School Portraits
Lovely & Rare Collection of 45 Miniature School Portraits. Origin Unknown, but oddly enough, acquired in an antique shop in Mexico. Possibly owned my a school teacher who kept the whole set as a memory of all her students, from an American Primary or High School in the United States in the 1950’s. These measure 1 x 1.5 inches each. My feeling is that many people have come to retire in Mexico, and bring their favourite, most personal belongings, and once these people pass on, no one is there claim these treasured items, so they end up in thrift shops and in this case, and antique shop. A wonderful momento of an long gone era.
