This print was published as a prospectus for Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe (Marilyn) portfolio by Factory Additions in 1967. It reproduces, in vivid color, a version of Warhol’s iconic Marilyn Monroe, which was based on a cropped publicity still from the film Niagara (1953) and remains one of the most famous images ever produced. Warhol used Monroe’s likeness several times, beginning with Gold Marilyn Monroe(1962).
