Born in Japan, in 1961, Yoko Takashima currently lives and works in Victoria, B.C. She holds a B.F.A. from the University of Lethbridge and a M.F.A. from the University of Victoria. Since 1992, her work has been featured in important Canadian and international group exhibitions as well as solo exhibitions such as Conceal/Reveal, SITE Santa Fe, Topographies: Aspect of Recent B.C. Art, held at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and Bonn Videonale 7 in Bonn, Germany.
